Karimnagar: Sanitary workers are real heirs of Gandhiji
Karimnagar: The sanitary workers and toilet cleaners are the real heirs of Mahatma Gandhi, said Lok Satta Udhyama Samstha district president N Srinivas and general secretary Prakash on Wednesday.
To mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the members of the Lok Satta Udhyama Samstha felicitated the toilet cleaners Nagesh Jha and Jashanti working in Sulabh complex and Mogili and Anusha working in the City Municipal Corporation and distributed sweets here in Karimnagar.
Speaking on the occasion, LSUS president N Srinivas said that it is because of the services of the sanitary workers and toilet cleaners, 130 crore people in the country are living healthily. So, these people are the real heirs of Mahatma Gandhi who are rendering services tirelessly.
The dream of Mahatma Gandhi that is 'Swarajyam' was achieved but not the 'Surajyam' which the people are aspiring. It is the responsibility of the educated people to create awareness and prod the people towards achieving Surajyam, he appealed.
The government must fill all that posts which are lying vacant immediately for establishing corruption-free society, he demanded.
The members of the association R Chandrashekar, KS Narasaiah, K Ramachandra Reddy, P Raghuram, T Ganga Rao, M Shashidar, A Ilaiah, Muzafar, Manohar, Damodar, Kondar Rao, Suresh and S Venu and others were present on the occasion.
