Karimnagar: Save and develop Karimnagar, demands BJP
Karimnagar: In protest against the TRS party for diverting the funds of smart city project, with a slogan to 'Save Karimnagar and develop Karimnagar,' the BJP leaders held a rally from Telangana chowk to Municipal Corporation and staged a dharna, here, in front of the Municipal office in Karimnagar city on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP district president G Krishna Reddy alleged that the TRS government by diverting the funds that are released by the Central government under Smart City project, is trying to drag the BJP State president and Karimnagar MP, Bandi Sanjay Kumar into it meaninglessly.
The TRS government does not have any commitment for development of Karimnagar city. It is not in a stage to protect the Smart city status of Karimnagar city which was sanctioned by the Central government. Apart from that the State planning commission vice president, Boinapally Vinod Kumar alleged that MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar is trying to suspend the smart city project.
Central government's town development department on several occasions warned the State government of losing the smart city status if they do not take up the developmental works under the project. Even then the State government is not in a mood to take up the works, he alleged.
With false statements, TRS is trying to cut the time but did nothing for the people of Karimnagar. What is the DPR of Smart city projects? Did TRS party leaders ever explain to the people of Karimnagar how they are going to develop it, he questioned.
Without having proper planning, only for the sake of commissions, the State government handed over the smart city works to other contractors and are taking up works without the maintenance of standards. The TRS leaders did not keep up to their promise of all-round development of Karimnagar till date, he criticised.
Later, the leaders of the BJP under the leadership of district president G Krishna Reddy submitted a representation to the City Municipal commissioner V Kranthi.
The BJP leaders D Shankar, G Ramesh, Jitender, Srinivas, Ravi, Suma, Bhavana, Anoop, Anand, Vijaya Lakshmi, Vasudev Reddy, Praveen, Kalyan Chandra, Ramanujam, Muthyam Rao, Raghu, Satish, Shiva Raj, Laxma Reddy, Prasad, Lokesh, Sampath, Ramana Reddy, Vasu, Balweer Singh, Jamaal, Ganesh, Anil, Abhilash, Chaitanya, Aruna, Lavanya, Yashoda, Madhavi, Malathi, Padma, Chandra Kala and Shilpa were present along with others.
