Karimnagar: Telugu Desam Party district president Ambati Joji Reddy appealed party leaders and cadre to strive hard for fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of party founder late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR).

Local leaders and cadre observed 97th birth anniversary of the party founder-president and Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh NT Rama Rao by garlanding his statue at Manair bridge and hoisted party flag in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Joji Reddy said NT Rama Rao spread the greatness of Telugu speaking people in the entire world and treated people as God and society as a temple. By establishing the party, he strived hard for the welfare of poor people and got a permanent place in the heart of the people. Within nine months of establishing the party, NTR came to power and introduced several welfare schemes for the people belonging to BC, SC, ST and Minority and provided good governance without giving any scope for corruption, he added.

TDP Karimnagar Assembly segment convenor K Agaiah said not only in the film industry, but NT Rama Rao left his mark in politics also. Stating that the Central government had insulted the Telugu speaking people by not giving Bharat Ratna award to such a great personality, he demanded at least now this award should be given to the legend. Agaiah appealed that the party leaders and cadre must strive hard for fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of NT Rama Rao, which is a real tribute to the legendary leader and Telugu pride. TDP leaders Venkataiah, Bala Goud, Srinivas, Rajesham, Ravinder, Vineeth, Karunakar Reddy, Yousuf, Raja Mallaiah, Haigreeva Chary, Sridhar, Ahmed, Narasimha Chary, Laxman, Javeed, Wazeed Khan and Anjaneyulu were present along with others.
