Karimnagar: Telangana Irrigation Development Corporation (IDC) chairman Eda Shankar Reddy condemned the statements made by Congress leaders against the TRS government about irrigation projects, at a press meet at Roads and Buildings guest house in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Speaking to the media, Shankar Reddy alleged that the Congress leaders are making false propaganda about irrigation projects that have been taken by the TRS government without having complete awareness about the projects.

Reminding TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar allegations that there is no quality in Mid-Manair projects, Reddy said that Prabhakar has no knowledge that the MMD project was taken up during the reign of Congress government. The contract of the construction works of MMD bund were given to Komati Reddy brothers of the Congress, he added.

Reddy challenged Ponnam Prabhakar to an open debate along with Komatireddy brothers, if he (Prabhakar) is sure that the TRS government is cheating the people. Otherwise, the Congress leaders must say sorry to the people, he added.

All the irrigation projects were taken up as per the water storage capacity of the projects concerned, Shankar Reddy added.

Choppadandi MLA S Ravi Shankar, MLC Naradasu Laxman Rao, former ZP chairperson Tula Uma, former City Mayor Ravinder Singh and TRS leader G Hari Prasad were present along with others.
