Karimnagar:Govt drivers demand solution to their problems
Karimnagar: Telangana Government Drivers Central Association State president Md Jahangeer Ali demanded that the government must solve the issues government drivers, which they have been facing, at a general body meeting held here on Monday.
Association district unit president Sardar Manjith Singh organised the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Md Jahangeer Ali said that the drivers, who are working in various government departments, are facing lot of hardships in driving the old and outdated vehicles with minimum salaries. The government is showing discrimination against government drivers and not filling vacancies and not sanctioning PRC and DA to them, he added.
The government must replace old vehicles with new ones and should fill posts, which have been lying vacant since a long time and must issue 45 per cent of PRC along with DA, Jahangeer demanded.
He also demanded allotment of housing plots for government drivers and regularisation of drivers, working on contract and outsourcing basis in various government departments.
The association leaders G Kumara Swamy, G Narsaiah, Md Abed Usman, Md Saleem, Ramchander Naik, S Venkataiah, Md Saleemuddin and Venkatakistaiah and others were present at the general body meeting.
