Hyderabad: In an expected but abrupt move, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has decided to field former MP and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's daughter K Kavitha as the candidate for State Legislative Council from Nizamabad constituency from Local Bodies' segment.

TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is learnt to have decided to make Kavitha as member of Legislative Council. A formal announcement would be made on Wednesday.

Kavitha would be filing her nomination papers at 11.30 am on Wednesday, according to reliable sources.

It may be mentioned here that Kavitha lost the Nizamabad Lok Sabha seat in the last general elections to BJP's Dharmapuri Arvind. Since her defeat, Kavitha has been away from active politics.

Party leaders said there was no representation from the family of Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao in the Council and Kavitha's entry would mean all the legislative houses would have representation from Chief Minister's family.
