Jagtial: Nizamabad MP Kalvakuntla Kavitha strived hard for the establishment of turmeric board and also introduced a private bill in Lok Sabha, said Chada Srujan Reddy, the general secretary of TRS NRI unit of United Kingdom. "Kavitha asked us over phone to support the movement taken up by the turmeric farmers," he stated during a press meet in Jagtial on Tuesday.

He further informed that the MP met Prime Minister Narendra Modi two times along with other Ministers to discuss the issue and exerted pressure on the Central government to set up turmeric board. She even took initiation and requested Chief Ministers of five States to write a letter to the Prime Minister on this issue.

He alleged that Central Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nirmala

Sitharaman earlier promised turmeric farmers of establishing turmeric board but denied after coming to power.

MP Kavitha invited Ram Dev Baba to Nizamabad district and explained him about the need of establishment of a turmeric board so that he may convey the same to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Srujan Reddy informed.

The BJP is playing politics with turmeric farmers and forcing them to file nomination for creating confusion among the voters. In the coming Lok Sabha elections, Federal Front will form the government and TRS will play crucial role in it, party NRI leader said.
