KCR asks leaders to rivet eyes on civic polls
Hyderabad: Chief Minister and TRS president K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday announced in-charge for the Huzurnagar by-poll and also asked the leaders in other places to focus on the ensuing municipal elections.
The party has begun its preparations for Huzurnagar with TRS working president KT Rama Rao taking up meeting at Nalgonda on Monday and the Chief Minister announcing the in-charge on Tuesday.
The Chief Minister appointed party's general secretary and whip in State Legislative Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy as the in-charge of Huzurnagar by-poll.
The party has announced candidature of S Saidireddy for Huzurnagar, who had lost the election against TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy during December 2018 Assembly elections.
As Uttam Kumar Reddy got elected to Lok Sabha from Nalgonda Constituency, he resigned from Huzurnagar. The Congress party has given ticket to N Padmavathi, wife of Uttam Kumar Reddy. Padmavati lost from Kodada in the Assembly elections.
The Chief Minister on Tuesday asked Rajeshwar Reddy to coordinate with Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and MLCs from the district and stay at Huzurnagar to coordinate and implement the party's poll strategy.
He also instructed all the Ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and party general secretaries and leaders to be in their districts and get ready for the ensuing Municipal elections.
He advised them to take responsibilities municipality wise and coordinate with party functionaries.
Party leaders said that Rajeshwar Reddy would be finalising the campaign schedule of important leaders and assign leaders to different divisions under the constituency.
Rama Rao has also started efforts in winning Huzurnagar, which has been the bastion of the Congress party. During a meeting in Nalgonda, Rama Rao asked the party leaders to take this bypoll as a challenge.
The leaders should think that they are the candidate for the bypoll and give their best to win the seat. "We have not won there even once but if we give our best, we will succeed," Rama Rao said in a meeting.
