Karimnagar: CPI leaders staged rasto roko in support of RTC employees' strike in Karimnagar on Saturday. When CPI leaders tried to burn the effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the police stopped them and arrested the leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, the CPI party district secretary Ponuganti Kedari alleged that CM KCR is behaving stubbornly with the RTC employees who have been on strike for the past 22 days.

Even though many of their families came on to the road urging the government to fulfill the justifiable demands of the RTC employees, CM KCR is not even responding, apart from that he is blaming them for taking the decision of strike.

Ironically, while the TRS leaders and workers celebrating victory in the Huzurnagar by-election, the RTC employees and their family members are suffering because of nonpayment of salaries and are unable to celebrate the major festivals Dasara and Deepavali, they said.

When CM KCR did indefinite strike, the Left party's State leadership extended its support and stood by him during the separate Telangana movement. Now, when the same leaders like Kunamneni Sambashiva Rao decided the same for the sake of RTC employees, then KCR should open his eyes and must do justice to the RTC employees by fulfilling all their demands, they pointed out.

CPI leaders K Shoba Rani, K Surjan Kumar, B Ashok, T Sammaiah, K Manikanta Reddy, B Ugendar, P Raju, K Buchanna and G Pochamallu joined the protest.
