Warangal: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was busy purchasing Opposition party legislators when the entire state was in chaos over the bungling of Intermediate results, TPCC campaign committee chairperson and former MP Vijayashanti said.

Addressing protestors at the Ekasila Park in Hanamkonda on Thursday, she said that it took six days for KCR to react over the goof up of Intermediate results that resulted in the death of more than 20 students.

"While the heartbroken students who failed in Intermediate were resorting to suicides, KCR was least bothered about it. Moreover, he was busy luring the MLAs of other parties offering them Rs 30 crore each," Vijayashanti alleged.

The CM has no time to review with Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) and instil confidence among the students, she said.

Had the government responded in time, the situation wouldn't have been so worse, she said, accusing KCR of being insensitive towards students who took to streets after seeing their mark sheets.

KCR, who responded late, did not give any assurance to the students but for ordering the authorities to conduct re-evaluation. KCR would have sacked Minister for Education G Jagadeeshwar Reddy besides taking stringent action against the officials responsible for the goof up, she said.

Accusing the government of entrusting Intermediate results to an incompetent organisation, Vijayashanti demanded the arrest of those who led to the situation.

Vijayashanti said that KCR has lost moral right to continue in CM chair.

There was a mild tension when the police obstructed the Congress activists heading to Old Collectorate.

They took Vijayashanti and other Congress leaders of the district into custody while dispersing the party activists who in large numbers turned to Ekasila Park, dharna venue.

The police had a tough time to control the huge number of Congress activists who gathered at the Ekasila Park. They shouted slogans against the TRS government. They also demanded the resignation of Education Minister G Jagadishwar Reddy.

After police took her into custody, she criticised the government for not allowing them to submit a memorandum to the Collector.

"It reflects the dictatorial rule of the TRS government," Vijayashanti said. Former minister Konda Surekha and DCC president N Rajender Reddy were among others arrested by the police.
