Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has convened a day-long conference with District Collectors and ministers at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday. The meeting assumes importance in the backdrop of government's decision to bring in a new Revenue Act.

The Chief Minister is learnt to have asked the Collectors and ministers to come up with their opinions and suggestions on the proposed Act, hoped to root out land litigations in the state.

He told the Collectors that they should base their suggestions on their experiences as they have direct experience on the land management at ground level.

The Chief Minister proposes to have detailed and comprehensive discussions on how to formulate guidelines for the new Act so that the people and farmers will have no problems and there is no room for any corruption.

In addition, the meeting will also deliberate on the proposed 60-day action plan to be implemented in villages and towns. Since there is a need to discuss these three issues in-depth, the meeting may even be extended for two days, according to sources at the CMO.
