KCR does quiet campaign: KTR
Hyderabad: TRS working president K T Rama Rao on Sunday said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was in touch with heads of various regional parties in the country, while indicating that the latter may not campaign for these parties directly.
In an informal interaction with the media, KT Rama Rao said that some campaigns need to be done indirectly, when he was asked whether KCR would be campaigning in other states in North India as part of his Federal Front of non-BJP, non-Congress parties.
"Why do you think KCR is not speaking? The campaigns are of many types. There will be direct and indirect campaigns," said KTR. He reiterated that the TRS was going to win 16 seats from Telangana and his party would play a decisive role in Delhi.
KTR predicted that the Congress and BJP would lose deposits in many Lok Sabha seats in the state. The Congress would be in third place in four to five seats and lose deposits in three to four seats.
In some constituencies, including Nizamabad and Mahbubnagar, the Congress leaders appealed to the voters to vote for the BJP, he said.
The TRS leader said the state government had requested the Election Commission to conduct ZPTC and MPTC elections before May 23 so that the government can focus on development for the next 4 years. He said the Chief Minister KCR was contemplating to bring in a strong Municipal Act to curb corruption in the state.
He ridiculed the comments of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that the EVMs were tampered with. "A person who tells technology has come because of him is talking about tampering of the EVMs which is laughable.
"Were the EVM's were proper when he came into power in 2014? The comments of the AP CM are silly. Seeing the behaviour of Naidu, the TDP cadre is also thinking that they are losing the election.
What would Chandrababu say if he wins on May 23? Will he have the same doubts on the EVMs," said KTR. He also took exception to the comments that KCR and Jagan were pet dogs of Narendra Modi. The TRS leader predicted that the TRS would get highest majority in Medak Lok Sabha followed by Warangal and Karimnagar.
He said the people of Telangana would never honour the BJP and they will not get a single seat in the state. KTR said that there will be no impact of Congress president Rahul Gandhi contesting in Wayanad in the neighbouring states.
"If a leader is popular, he can win from any seat. Chandrababu never leaves Kuppam, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy never left Pulivendula. Only KCR has contested in different constituencies. There will be no impact of Rahul Gandhi contesting in Wayanad," said KTR.
