KCR on a sticky wicket: BJP
Hyderabad: BJP Telangana unit official spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao on Friday said that the party scored a big victory by forcing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to change his position on the September 17 this time around.
While KCR is trying to underplay the change in his stance on September 17, it is a fact that he has given up confrontationist approach on this historic demand and openly declared that anyone can celebrate the day and allowed all permissions for rallies and meetings across the State, he said and added that the BJP has forced him with public opinion and the party's coordinated effort to make it an issue of Telangana self-respect.
"BJP feels that KCR is now in his weakest position ever, and he understands it. He is in no position to afford confrontation with the BJP on this issue", the BJP leader said.
Rao stated that KCR's plans to form an alternate front also failed, so did his ambition of winning 16 seats. His ambition to make his KTR as the chief minister did not work out, so did his plan to sideline and politically finish Harish Rao.
The series of defeats highlight visible weakening of KCR and TRS in Telangana.
In contrary, the BJP in Telangana State is on the rise and is scoring successive victories, he mentioned.
