KCR pushed State into chaos: BJP

Update: 2019-11-01 23:59 IST

Warangal: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has pushed the State into a bizarre situation; the ongoing TSRTC employees' strike that entered the 28th day on Friday is just an example of the chaotic situation in the State.

Speaking to media persons here on Friday, he said that development in the State came to a standstill even though it was almost a year since TRS retained power. "The State was surplus in revenue, but KCR had pushed it into a debt trap. Today, he didn't have enough funds to implement even his election promises," he said.

He said that KCR is determined to sell off the RTC to serve his own vested interests. "Non disbursal of payment to around 50,000 RTC employees, who barely draw a salary of Rs 30,000 a month, reflects the fascist and vindictive nature of KCR," Krishna Saagar said.

Referring to the RTC strike, he said that the stand of BJP is crystal clear. "The conflict between the RTC staff and the management needs to be resolved quickly. The party extends its support to the justifiable demands of the employees against whom the TRS government was trying to deal with iron hand," he said.

Accusing the TRS government of providing fictitious figures to the High Court, Krishna Saagar dared the TRS government to come clean by releasing a white paper explaining the financial situation of the RTC for the last six years.

Referring to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) which faulted the State government for overstating its revenue surplus while it had revenue deficit, the BJP spokesperson said that KCR has stooped to a level that he not only hoodwinks people but also courts by stating concocted figures. "Compared to KCR, former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav who was mired in corruption is far better," he stated.

A delegation of BJP leaders would meet Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and urge her to seek audited reports of RTC's financial situation, he said. The Governor has right to seek financial statement from the government, he added.

"We have plans to knock the doors of President Ram Nath Kovind, if the Governor fails to act upon the State government over the RTC strike," he said. BJP Warangal urban district president Rao Padma, senior leaders Dr Vijayalaxmi, Puli Sarotham Reddy, Sangani Jagadeeshwar, Mandala Suresh, Pasikanti Rajendraprasad, Nampally Srinivas and Ramky Yadav were among others present.
