KCR renews Front efforts, meets Kerala CM

Hyderabad: In what is viewed as renewed efforts to kickstart to form a Federal Front, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday called on Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in an attempt to increase the numbers of a non-BJP, non-Congress Front at the Centre.

It is learnt that KCR told Vijayan that it was time to usher in a new trend in politics and his efforts to create a Federal Front would get strength if the Left parties too extend their support.

This Front, he told Kerala CM, could play a key role in national politics. They are also learnt to have discussed the likely outcome of the elections at the national level.

Vijayan, according to TRS leaders, assured KCR that they would consider his suggestion if the situation warranted after the announcement of the poll results.

KCR was accompanied by his family members. On his first day tour, KCR visited the famous Padmanabha Swami temple and offered special prayers.

KCR is also likely to meet Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy. KCR talked to Kumaraswamy over phone. KCR had thanked Kumaraswamy for his gesture of releasing water for Telangana.

During his visit to Tamil Nadu, KCR would meet DMK leader Stalin on May 13 in Chennai exactly 10 days before the announcement of the election results of the Lok Sabha.

However, DMK sources said this would just be a courtesy call. The DMK, it may be mentioned here, is in alliance with the Congress.

During his visit to Chennai, KCR will visit Rameshwaram and Srirangam temples before returning to Hyderabad.
