KCR swindled crores of rupees in name of irrigation projects: Ponnala Laxmaiah
Hyderabad: Senior Congress leader and former TPCC president Ponnala Laxmaiah has accused Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of swindling thousands of crores of public money in the guise of construction of irrigation projects.
Strongly condemning the arrest of Congress leaders when they tried to stage dharnas at the projects constructed on river Godavari, the senior leader alleged that not a single acre of farm land got irrigation facility from the projects taken up by Telangana government.
Nearly Rs one lakh crore have been spent for the construction of Kaleshwaram and Palamuru Rangareddy lift irrigation and other projects but the creation of new irritation facility is zero. Laxmaiah said that the obstruction of Congress leaders visit to the project exposed the unbridled corruption in the execution of the projects. He demanded the Chief Minister to come for an open debate on projects and prove the allegations made by Congress are wrong.
