Hyderabad: "If a party candidate in your constituency loses municipal elections, you will lose your minister's post," Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao told his Cabinet colleagues at an extended meeting of the party here on Saturday.

It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister had put the onus of getting all party candidates win the municipal elections on the MLAs and Ministers.

According to sources, the TRS chief said, "Surveys are in our favour... we are winning all the municipalities and corporations.

The BJP cannot give any fight to us. We have no competition with any party. Once the names of the candidates are announced, all should work for the victory of the candidates."

Handing over the list of details of beneficiaries of various government schemes, the Chief Minister asked the leaders to contact the beneficiaries in their respective urban local bodies and seek their support. He asked them to organise 'atmiya sammelanams' with the party workers.

He asked the party MLAs and MPs to work from the party offices and not from their homes and added that this was the identity of a politician.

"Government has brought many schemes which no other state had done. We are giving Aasara pensions to about 40 lakh people giving away Rs 2016 every month.

We are giving pensions to beedi workers which is nowhere in the country. If the party loses in the areas of beedi workers, the MLA will be responsible for the defeat," KCR said.

The TRS chief also cautioned the leaders on rebels in the party. He said, "Some people may be trying to file nominations as rebel candidates.

Talk to them and try for compromise and if they don't fall in line suspend them. Do not allow them to use the party flag or any posters," he said.

"Elections are not won only with campaigns. Victory would be easy if leaders go to the people with a plan," the Chief Minister said and pulled up Minister Ch Malla Reddy and former MLA Sudheer Reddy for conflicts in Medchal and asked them to ensure that there was no infighting in the party.

In the post lunch session, TRS working president KT Rama Rao interacted with party leaders, including the ministers and MLAs.
