Hyderabad: BJP Telangana chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was shocked by both general election and Dubbaka bypoll losses. KCR's arrogance of unchallenged electoral wins has taken a severe beating since a year, he said.

In a statement released on Sunday, Krishna Saagar Rao said that the Chief Minister seems to have woken up to the real threat of BJP's rise in the State with consistent erosion of Congress party, both regionally and nationally. BJP has proven itself as the only alternative in Telangana, he said.

He further added that KCR also realised the possibility of a 'change vote' compounded with anti-incumbency even in GHMC with serious misgovernance and brazen misconduct by TRS corporators in the last term.

KCR's recent tactics through MLC candidate selection, corporation posts allotment to trading community migrants from other States and huge reduction of property taxes are all desperate political moves in the run-up to GHMC elections.

The BJP leader said that the saffron party was confident of getting majority seats in GHMC to win the Mayor's position.

KCR's last-minute rush might only help reduce the electoral damage but will not give TRS an electoral win in GHMC elections, he opined.
