Khammam: 12 students fall sick after consuming mid-day meals
Khammam: Nearly 12 students were hospitalised at Tatakula Thanda under Raghunathapalem mandal on Monday after they complained of stomach-ache. According to sources, the students, studying at the primary school in the said village, on Monday, consumed mid-day meals.
At around 2pm, 12 students complained of stomach-ache. The in-charge headmaster and teachers, Sesha Kumar and Anita, shifted them to nearby Primary Heath Centre (PHC) for treatment.
Later, they informed about the incident to District Educational Officer Madhan Mohan and Mandal Education Officer Srinivas. Both the officials rushed to the PHC and enquired about the health of the students.
After a check-up, Dr Shilpa stated that all the students were stable and they suffered the stomach-ache due to having half-cooked food. However, the officials ordered an inquiry into the incident.
