Khammam: BJP demands government to declare health emergency in State
Khammam: BJP on Monday demanded the KCR government to declare a health emergency as many people are dying due to viral fever which has taken a shape of an epidemic in the State.
The BJP workers carried out a cleanliness drive at Khammam Bust Stand on Monday. Former MLC and BJP core committee member Dr Ponguleti Sudhaker Reddy along with party leaders cleaned up the garbage and plastic littered on the premises of the bus stand.
Ponguleti alleged that the municipal corporation failed in its duty of keeping the city clean. He said people are suffering from dengue, malaria, and other seasonal diseases due to dirty city. The same condition is prevailing across the State but the government is paying no attention to the people's problems. No medical camps were conducted in the agency areas, he added.
Due to shortage of doctors and paramedical officials in the government hospitals, people are not getting proper treatments. He demanded the government to fill the vacant posts immediately in the health department.
He also criticised Health Minister Eatala Rajender. He said many deaths were due to dengue and other viral fevers but the Health Minister said no deaths due dengue were reported in the State. He called for an immediate declaration of a health emergency in the State. BJP senior leader K Sridhar Reddy, Town BJP president R Pradeep, leaders Vinod Chowdary, Md Fazal, V Mahesh, Shanker Goud and BJP leaders attended the programme.
