Khammam: CITU demands minimum salaries for the contract workers

Khammam: CITU leaders and contract workers of Singareni Collieries Company Limited took out a huge rally demanding minimum salaries, in the coal town Kothagudem on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, CITU State vice president (Singareni Wing) stated that the contract workers who are working in the nurseries have faced many problems due to insufficient salaries for many years. He demanded the company management to give the minimum salarie to the workers who are working at nurseries across the company. The company has been spending more funds for the development of greenery and Haritha Haram programme, but the workers' proper salaries have not been given so far.

Before the meeting a rally was conducted by the contract workers in the coal town and staged protest before the Assistant General Manager Office. Later a memorandum was the submitted with the demands to the Assistant General Manager of the company.
