Khammam: Congress flays Central, State governments, their policies
Khammam: As part of the call given by the party's State leadership, the Congress party leaders and workers took out a protest rally and tried to lay siege to the Collectorate in Khammam on Friday. The rally was flagged off by veteran Congress leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao, where a larger number of party leaders and workers took part in it and raised slogans against the State and the Central governments.
Addressing the Congress workers on the Collectorate premises, V Hanumantha Rao slammed the BJP-led Central government and TRS-led State government for their "anti-people" policies. Stating that people are facing many problems in the country under the BJP regime, VH said that the BJP government had miserably failed in implementing the poll promises, and its policies have led to economic recession in the country.
Flaying the K Chandrashekar Rao-led State government, the veteran Congress leader alleged that the Chief Minister was not addressing the RTC workers issues with an eye on RTC properties and was planning to privatise it. Stating that the Chief Minister was mesmerising people with his honey-coated words and mudslinging the opposition parties, he said KCR had failed to fulfil the promises he made to people of the State during the Assembly and Parliament elections. At least now, the CM should call the RTC unions for talks and solve their justifiable demands.
After staging a protest for over two hours at the Collectorate, VH along with district party leaders submitted a memorandum to Collector RV Karnan in his office. District Congress Committee president Puvvada Durga Prasad, former minister Sambani Chandra Sekhar, former MLC P Nageswara Rao, leaders of the party K Manvath Rai, Md Javeed, Deepak Chowdhary, Narasimha Rao, Balagangadhar Tilak, Veerabhadram, party leaders and workers participated in the protest.
