Khammam: CPI demands cancellation of AP GO 203

Khammam: CPI leaders and activists staged a dharna at Khammam Collectorate for an hour on Wednesday protesting against illegal construction of Pothiredddpadu lift irrigation project by Andhra Pradesh State government. They also demanded cancellation of AP GO. 203.

Party State assistant secretary and former MLA Kunamaneni Sambasiva Rao alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has no interest in providing water to agricultural lands in South Telangana districts.

He questioned why the TRS government is silent when the AP government is lifting excess water through Pothireddypadu lift irrigation project. Alleging that the Telangana government hasn't taken any action on this, he demanded to convene an all-party meeting and take advice on the issue.

CPI district secretary Potu Prasad, senior leaders Bagam Hemanth Rao, Moulana, Suresh, Singhu Narasimhulu and other leaders participated in the protest.
