Khammam: CPI, Singareni workers extend support to RTC stir
Khammam: The indefinite strike by Unions of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) continued for the sixth day on Thursday with agitating employees staging protests across the district. Nearly 2,630 employees boycotted their duties. However, the Corporation officials added that they were running nearly 80 percent of buses in the region.
On Thursday, CPI party leaders took out massive rallies in support of RTC strike across the district. Party State Joint secretary Kunamneni Sambhasiva Rao led the rally in the Khammam town. He alleged that the State government and the TRS party had no interest in solving the workers issues. Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was planning to privatise the Corporation, he said if Chief Minister fails to solve the RTC issues, they would rethink about decision of supporting TRS in Huzurnagar bypoll.
Later, amid slogans, the party leaders and supporters took part in the protest rally.
Meanwhile, the AITUC leaders in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) attended their duties by wearing black ribbons on Thursday extending their support to RTC workers strike.
