Khammam: Doctors, staff want to go on leave after their colleagues tested positive

Khammam: Many doctors and staff working in the Government District Headquarters Hospital are planning to go on leave after four lady doctors and four nurses including a male nurse tested positive for coronavirus. Seven primary contacts also confirmed as corona positive.

More than 50 staff and doctors, who are waiting for their test reports, are in the grip of fear and the delay in the reports is depressing them and their families also. The doctors and staff, who were infected with coronavirus, had worked in the isolation ward for a few days. The primary and secondary contacts of the corona positive patients and their families are worrying a lot and eagerly waiting for their test reports.

Senior medical officials also were in great panic and worrying about their health. For the first time in both districts, two doctors and three staff got corona positive, which terrorised the people of both the districts.

There are about 70 doctors and 150 staff working at district headquarter hospital in Khammam. It's learnt that a few doctors and staff have informed their higher ups that they cannot work in this situation and to sanctions leave to them.

A hospital employee said that they were depressed about test results as they had moved closely with the doctors and staff, who got positive.

Speaking to The Hans India, Resident Medical Officer B Srinivas Rao confirmed the news and said some more tests have been conducted and they are waiting for results. "We are granting leaves to the doctors and staff, who have small kids and health issues".
