Khammam: Government to implement 30-day action plan in municipalities

Khammam: After the completion of 30-day action plan in villagers, the officers must now brace up for carrying out the same development in urban centres and municipalities, said Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao. On Tuesday, the Minister conducted a video conference with all the District Collectors and municipal commissioners from across the State.

District Collector RV Karnan and Khammam Municipal Corporation Commissioner J Srinivas Rao participated in the programme. Addressing the officials, the Minister stated that the officers must strive to develop the urban areas and in this regard, the officials' must submit the town action plan to the government within a week. The Minister also directed the officials to appoint sanitation staff as part of Swachh Sarvekshan.

Stating that as part of town planning more toilets should be established in the municipalities, KT Rama Rao directed the municipalities to develop and maintain their own nurseries for enhancing greenery in their respective municipal limits.

Informing that a training programme would be conducted about the new Municipal Act to the all the municipal Commissioners in Hyderabad in the coming up days, the Minister has appealed to every officer to work for the development of municipalities.

Municipal Department Chief Secretary Aravind Kumar stated with the observations of respective District Collectors, an action plan should be planned for all the municipalities in the State.

District Collector RV Karnan, speaking in the programme, explained how the administration was planning to conduct the action plan. Wyra, Sathupally and Madhira municipal Commissioners also attended the video conference.
