Khammam: Municipal chairman fined of Rs 1 lakh by KTR for erecting flexes
Even after the TRS party directed its leaders not to erect flexes and hoardings, the party leaders put up the flexes in Yellandu in the view of the minister KT Rama Rao's visit.
KTR was on a visit to Yellandu to attend the meeting on Sunday in connection with the 'Pattana Pragati' programme. Speaking at the meeting, KTR said, "Though I insisted the party workers especially the municipal chairperson Dammalapati Venkateshwarao Rao against it, they have put up flexes. I already told them I will impose fine. These flexes are of no use, the plastic will haunt us like a ghost and we should fight it."
"No use of putting up the flexes except the politicians can see their own face and no one become the leader by just putting flexes. I am imposing a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the municipal chairman. Even though he put up a cloth flex, I don't want to encourage that also," the minister said.
Later, the minister directed the district collector to make sure that the fine is paid.
