Khammam: Telangana Rashtra Samithi floor leader in Lok Sabha and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao appealed to the Union Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad to solve the issues of Gramin Dak Sevaks, working in the postal department.

According to the MP's camp office, on Wednesday, the MP wrote a letter regarding issues of Gramin Dak Sevaks to the Central Minister.

In his letter, the MP had stated that a good number of Gramin Dak Sevaks, whom he met recently in Hyderabad, had submitted a memorandum to him urging him to address their problems.

He informed that the government had given Rs 1.50 lakh to them under gratuity. The MP appealed to the Minister to enhance the gratuity amount and also extend pension facility to the Dak Sevaks.

He also recalled conducting 16 days of relay protest in 2018 across the country demanding the Centre to solve the issues of Dak Sevaks.

Though Central government had given assurances to solve the issues, it has taken any steps in this regard so far, Nama said.
