Khammam: As the entire country facing lockdown following Covid-19 outbreak, all major political parties and organisations have changed their mode of functioning. Leading parties including Congress, CPM, BJP are giving instructions to their lower cadre through audio and video conferences. Instead of sitting idle, the political parties are continuing their activities in a different way.

Of all parties, it was the CPM, which took full advantage of lockdown and conducted online classes to party workers creating awareness on various issues. Under normal conditions, party used to conduct study circles and seminars for imparting knowledge to the workers on various issues and current affairs. Since this is not possible due to coronavirus outbreak, the leaders are organising online classes on different issues to their cadre for the past 80 days across the State.

Sharing his experience of online classes with The Hans India, CPM district secretary Nunna Nageswar Rao observed it's a good opportunity for the party leaders and activists, who participated the online classes. Stating that senior leaders Sitaram Yechury, Prakash Karat, Brunda Karat, Raghavulu, Thammineni Veerabhadram and other prominent leaders gave lectures on different issues, he said not a single worker expressed boredom during the class and was attentive. This is for the first time party had conducted this type of classes with party senior leaders, he said and added that left parties had conducted online public meetings in recent years. 'Nearly 6,000 party leaders and workers had participated in online classes in the erstwhile Khammam district.'

Party State committee member AJ Ramesh speaking with this correspondent said the party's concept is that every member of the party should know all issues, so that they can fight on any issue. Through various online classes conducted in the past 80 days, both leaders and activists gained more knowledge.
