Khammam: Scribes take out protest rally seeking 2BHKs, accreditation cards

Khammam: Seeking double bedroom houses, cancellation of GO 239 and allotment of accreditation cards to all eligible scribes, the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), affiliated to Indian Journalists Union, has taken out a protest rally in all mandal headquarters in the district on Friday.

Union's State vice-president K Ram Narayana, speaking on the occasion, stated that the government was not giving importance to address the issues faced by journalists and it has not implemented the promises made to them. He demanded the government to immediately cancel GO 239, give accreditation cards to all journalists and also allot double bedroom houses. He informed that the Union would conduct district-level protest programmes in all district headquarters in the coming up days.

Later, the Union leaders submitted a memorandum to the Sub Collector and the Revenue Divisional Officers at their mandal headquarters.

Union leaders N Venkat Rao, Papa Rao, Murali, Gopi, Srinivas Reddy, J Ramesh, Uday, Bhadra Reddy and Rama Rao, Bhadrachalam district union president BV Ramana Reddy, division president Tokala Nageswara Rao, Indrakanti Muddu Krishna, Pokala Srinivas Rao, Pilli Raju, Satyanarayana and others took part in the protest rally.
