Khammam: Speed up work says Puvvada Ajay Kumar to officials
Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has directed the municipal and engineering officials to complete all works in view of IT Minister K T Rama Rao's visit to Khammam next month.
The Minister took part in Pattana Pragathi programme in various municipal divisions, planted saplings and inspected ongoing works here on Thursday. Later in the evening addressing a press conference, he informed that KT Rama Rao would be visiting Khammam on March 1.
The Minister would inaugurate double bedroom houses constructed at YSR Colony in Khammam city and at Raghunathapalem, vegetable market at NSP Camp, mini tank bund, indoor stadium at Pavilion Grounds and others, he said. About 240 double bedroom houses constructed at YSR Colony were ready for inauguration, he stated.
Referring to implementation of Pattana Pragathi, Ajay Kumar cautioned that serious action would be taken against officials and employees who fail to execute works as planned under the programme.
Priority has to be given to planting of saplings, cleaning drains, addressing electricity supply related issues and environmental protection, he mentioned. Care has to be taken that at least 85 per cent of saplings planted under the programme should survive, he noted.
The officials have to ensure active participation of public in Pattana Pragathi. The residents should be explained about the need of separating dry and wet waste, he explained. The officials and elected members should focus on completing works and not on publicity, Ajay Kumar suggested.
Mayor G Papalal, Municipal Commissioner Anurag Jayanthi and others were present.
