Khammam to plant over 3 crore saplings during Haritha Haram
Khammam: The State government as part of its prestigious Telangana Ku Haritha Haram, has set a target of planting 3.3 crore saplings for the Khammam district. In this regard, the district administration had also set targets for its various departments.
While the Forest and Police departments were together allotted 1 crore saplings, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has also been allotted 1 crore sapling, followed by ITC 50 lakh, Agricultural department 15 lakh, Khammam Municipality 28 lakh, Singareni 25 lakh, Horticulture department 10 lakh and Excise department 3 lakh.
In this regard, District Collector RV Karnan conducted a review meeting with the officials concerned on Monday late night. He reviewed the department-wise allocation and stated that every department should complete their targets. He further appealed to everyone in the department to take part in the programme.
