Kishan Reddy inspects RIMS Super Specialty Hospital works
Adilabad: Farmers' situation was worsened in the country and the Central government has brought new laws to change the status of the farmers and to brighten their life, stated Union Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy while addressing Rythu Sadassu at NTR Chowrasta in Adilabad on Tuesday.
He questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao why can't farmers sell their produce to corporate companies when he (CM KCR) can sell the products of his farm house to corporate hospitals and make crores of rupees.
Kishan Reddy criticised the Chief Minister of implementing family rule in Telangana State, which was formed due to the sacrifices of many people. Alleging that KCR hadn't entered the Secretariat even for a single day, he pointed out that Telangana is the only State in the country, which has no secretariat.
The Union Minister said that Congress government had allocated Rs 21.993 crore budget for agriculture sector during their rule while the BJP government had allocated Rs 1,34,399 crore. Now the minimum support price was increased from Rs1,300 to Rs 1,975 for wheat and from Rs 1,310 to Rs 1,866 for paddy. To avoid middlemen system, the government is purchasing the produce through CCI, he added.
During a review meeting on implementation of the Central government schemes at TTDC here on Tuesday, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy said cotton corporation India (CCI) should buy cotton at minimum support price in the district.
CCI has procured 14.63 lakh quintals of cotton from 75,531 farmers at a cost of Rs 705 crores during this season, he informed. Reviewing Amruth scheme, he enquired about drinking water supply to the people of the town, construction of water tanks and pipelines laid and developments of parks and national highways. He also enquired about railway over bridge.
Later speaking to the media, Union Minister Kishan Reddy stated that he visited the district to find out the problems of farmers and to create awareness among them on the laws brought by the Central government to provide infrastructure like education, health and transport in the remote Adilabad district.
After inspecting RIMS Super Specialty hospital works, Kishan Reddy said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sanctioned super hospital in 2016 and the Central government has allocated Rs 120 crore.
But the State government had failed to provide its share of Rs 30 crore for completing hospital works, he criticised. Minister Kishan Reddy asked the CM to immediately release funds for competing super specialty
hospital works.
