KMC on cleanliness drive, mulls weekly muck-out of localities
Karimnagar: Karimnagar Municipal Corporation Commissioner G Venugopal Reddy on Saturday participated in the sanitation drive held in the Market Water Tank area. DE, AE, municipal labourers, Engineering and Environment officials also took part in the sanitation drive and removed scrap, weeds, trash and other useless items near the water tank and cleaned the surroundings. The potholes problem was solved by filling with the mud.
On the occasion, the Commissioner requested the people to take care and pay attention to their health by maintaining surroundings including residences, office buildings, schools, colleges and other areas clean so that diseases do not spread. Special precautions should be taken to prevent diseases.
He also asked people to have active participation in the Swachh Bharat initiative by the government and keep surroundings clean. He said that the municipal corporation is planning a weekly cleanup of the surrounding areas consisting water tanks, offices and water treatment plants through Swachh Bharat programme. In addition, saplings were also being planted in such areas, he said.
