Kodandaram guns for Education Minister's scalp
Hyderabad: Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) has come down heavily on the State government and the Board of Intermediate Education for the Intermediate results fiasco.
While addressing the media here, TJS chief Prof Kodandaram demanded that Education Minister G Jagadish Reddy own moral responsibility for the goof-up and tender his resignation from Cabinet.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao conducted a review on this issue, but the Education Minister was missing, he felt.
The TJS chief was also critical of the Board for its total failure and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for mooting the proposal of scrapping the Board.
It was time to ensure that heads roll, and action is taken against those responsible for the goof-up, he insisted.
Kodandaram wanted to know why the Board Secretary and few TRS bosses are trying to shield Globarena Technologies that failed to do the job assigned to it.
He pointed out that Globarena's incapability came to light during data capturing of students joining Intermediate in last August-September and the same was brought to the notice of higher-ups in the department.
However, instead of acting on the complaint the officials ignored it and this led to a major goof-up now, Kodandaram said. The TJS chief also raised doubts whether Globarena was technically equipped to handle these tasks.
Kodandaram was also part of an all-party delegation that met Governor E S L Narasimhan on Intermediate results fiasco later in the evening.
Elaborating details about the meeting, Kodandaram said the Governor assured the delegation that all possible steps were being taken to ensure students are not affected and also action would be taken against officials who mishandled the whole issue.
