Kodangal: Alleging that the owner of Bharat Petrol Bunk in Tunkimetla village of Bomraspet mandal of Kodangal constituency has been selling adulterated petrol mixed with water, the villagers of Tunkimetla took to roads and staged a protest in front of Bharat Petrol Bunk and blocked the Hyderabad-Beejapur National Highway demanding justice on Tuesday.

The villagers stated that they have been observing the Bharat Petrol Bunk authorities for the last many days have been selling the adulterated fuel and in this regard, they have even warned the owner of the bunk to mend his ways. However, the petrol bunk owner never heeded to the villagers' request and continued to sell the adulterated petrol to the consumers.

Fed-up with the insensitive attitude of the petrol bunk owner, the villagers staged a protest and did not allow the vehicles to ply over the road and stopped the vehicles from entering the petrol bunk. The villagers took petrol bottles and staged a 'dharna' along the National Highway and demanded action against the petrol bunk owner. "The bunk owner is fooling hundreds of people every day by selling the adulterated petrol. Fed up with his attitude, we have decided to teach a lesson to the petrol bunk owner. We will not allow the vehicles to ply on this road until the officials come and take action against the petrol bunk owner who is fooling the consumers openly," said the villagers.

After learning about the protest, the Bomraspet police reached the spot and tried to pacify the villagers and promised to take action against the petrol bunk owner. "We have registered a case against the petrol bunk manager and investigating the matter," informed the Bomraspet police.
