Karimnagar: Konda Laxman Bapuji remembered on his birth anniversary

Karimnagar: During his entire life, Konda Laxman Bapuji strived hard for uplifting weaker sections of people and fought for the statehood of Telangana all his life, said BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar.

Along with District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, he garlanded the statue of Konda Laxman Bapuji on his 104th birth anniversary at Manair dam in Karimnagar on Friday and paid rich tributes.

The Minister said during the first phase of separate Telangana movement, Konda Laxman Bapuji fought for separate Telangana inspiring thousands of people across the region. He also strove hard for uplifting handloom workers community and other weaker sections. Konda Laxman Bapuji is a role model for Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who led the separate Telangana movement facing lot of hardships.

Kamalakar said even though Bapuji won several times as MLA, he never left the separate Telangana movement. He sacrificed his Minister post for the sake of Telangana. The youth of present generation must follow his footsteps and must fulfil his dreams by achieving Bangaru Telangana, the Minister appealed.
