Kothagudem: Beware! Tiger on the prowl again
Kothagudem: A tiger has been spotted between the industrial area Sarapaka and Ramchandrapuram village under the Aswapuram mandal.
Getting into details, on Thursday evening, a person travelling to Bhadrachalam via Sarapaka, sighted a tiger crossing the road and entering the forest. As soon as it came to the traveller's notice it was informed to the locals and forest officers who then alerted the people living in the villages nearby forest areas.
In the early hours on Friday, it was again sighted by a farmer Venkateswara Reddy who belonged to Reddypalem village near Sarapaka village. The forest officers observed the pugmarks on the field, and declared them to be tiger's pugmarks.
The Manuguru forest divisional officer T Venu Babu while speaking to the media informed that the pugmarks were identified and have been sent to Hyderabad for identifying whether they belong to a male or female tiger. He asked the farmers and people residing near the forest to not panic. Babu also directed officials to setup CC cameras in the villages and the forest to observe the movement of the tiger. According to the information provided by locals, it was seen going towards the forest of Krishnasagar and Aswapuram, Burgumphad.
