Kothagudem district police conducting sudden inspections at pan shops and hotspots of ganja in the district on Sunday

Kothagudem: The police on Sunday conducted search operations at the hotspots of ganja in the district on Sunday. According to the District Superintendent of Police (SP) Sunil Dutt, instructions were given to all the police in their divisions to conduct operations and inspect all the pan shops and suspected areas across the district.

The raids were carried out to prevent the selling and purchase of ganja in the district. The police have taken the issue seriously as people from neighbouring States like Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Chhattisgarh continue to trade Ganja illegally in the district.

Sunil Dutt warned the smugglers that severe action would be taken against them. He said the police were inspecting the borders and pan shops round-the-clock. Special teams were deployed to hold inspections across the district.

He appealed to the youth not to get addicted to drugs like ganja, gutka and other narcotic substances that can ruin their lives.
