Kothagudem hospital staff stage protest seeking salary dues

Khammam: Seeking the pending salaries of sanitation workers working in the Government Area Hospital in Kothagudem, the workers and the leaders and members of Centre for Indian Trade Union staged a protest on hospital premises on Tuesday.

Speaking at the programme, CITU leader K Sridhar said that the contract workers working in the hospital's sanitation wing have not received salaries for the last two months and they have been facing several hardships due to non-payment of salaries.

He demanded the hospital authorities and the State government to immediately release the pending salaries and also extend the benefits like Provident Fund and ESI to the workers.

The workers continued their protest for over an hour and later, submitted a representation to Hospital Superintendent urging the official to address their issues. Trade Union leaders L Bala Raju, J Nagesh, Padma, Anil, Ganaga, Siva Reddy, Mallaiah, Menamma, Hyma, Ganesh and Kamala took part in the protest.
