Kothagudem: Left parties condemn Kunamneni's arrest, burn CM's effigy in protest

Kothagudem: The Left parties on Monday burnt an effigy of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao during a protest programme in Kothagudem on Monday. The leaders of CPM, CPI and New Democracy A Kanakaiah, Shabeer Pasha and others participated in the protest and raised anti-government slogans.

Speaking on the occasion, they condemned the arrest of former MLC Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao during a hunger strike in Hyderabad for supporting the RTC strike. They demanded the government to immediately resolve the RTC issues. Stating that the State government had not taken concrete measures to placate the protesting employees in the last 23 days of the strike, they demanded that Chief Minister should take the responsibility of the deaths of RTC workers. They also demanded ex gratia to the kin of the dead workers on the occasion. Left leaders G Narasaiah, M Venkateswarlu, AJ Ramesh, A Satyanarayana, K Sridhar, L Bala Raju, D Ravi Kuar, Ramesh, Laxmi and others took part in the protest.

Minorities extend support

Bhadrachalam: The minorities expressed their solidarity with the ongoing RTC strike in Bhadrachalam on Monday. The people belonging to minorities took out a rally in the temple town. Speaking on the occasion, Minority Association leader SK Azeem appealed to the government to solve the RTC workers issue immediately. He said common people have been suffering with no transport facilities for the last 23 days. They later met the RTC workers and extended their support to them.
