Kothagudem: Murder accused held after 22 yrs

Kothagudem: A man accused in a murder case that took place 26 years ago and who has been in a hideout for the last 22 years was arrested by the police in Manuguru on Monday. According to Kothagudem Two Town Inspector Satyanarayana, the accused, Prahlad Mourya, was wanted in the murder that took place at Nine Incline area in Kothagudem in 1994.

A case was registered against him with crime number 175/1994 at Two Town police station. However, the accused stopped appearing before the court in connection with the case since 1998 and had been in a hideout at various places in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Six months ago, Prahlad came to Manuguru and started living there. The police, who tracked his movements, arrested him at his residence at Sivalingapuram Colony and produced him before the sessions court in Khammam seeking judicial remand.
