Kothagudem records 65 pc polling
Kothagudem: The LoK Sabha election went off peacefully in the district which recorded 65 per cent polling, said Collector Rajat Kumar Saini on Thursday.
No untoward incidents were reported in any polling station, the Collector said. As per order of the Election Commission, polling was conducted here from 7am to 4 pm in 162 centres in the district.
Under the micro observations the election was completed peace fully including the 198 sensitive polling stations.
As many as 9.19 lakh voters cast their votes in 1,079 polling stations in five Assembly segments of Kothagudem district, he said.
Special arrangements were made for the physically challenged voters and disabled candidates and aged people, he said. Free transport was provided for people in all polling stations, he added.
Among the five consistencies in the district the poll percentage was recorded as follows: Aswarao Pet (74.70%), Bhadrachalam (68.06%), Kothgudem (61%) and Pinapaka (65.43%). The polling was recorded 65%, he informed.
