KTR asks party cadre to brace up for civic polls

Hyderabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president K T Rama Rao has asked the party leaders to get ready for municipal elections as he inquired about party's chances in the ensuing civic polls by talking to general secretaries individually.

The TRS working president had a meeting with the party's general secretaries at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday. He expressed confidence that the party would be victorious in the ensuing municipal elections.

According to sources, the TRS leader talked to each of the general secretaries individually inquiring about the chances of the party in the elections. He sought information about the party which is likely to give a tough fight to TRS and what needs to be done for ensuring victory in their respective constituencies, said a TRS leader.

He also enquired about whether there was any impact of the BJP in municipalities, the TRS leader added. The TRS leader briefed about the programmes that need to be taken up in the constituencies. He also appointed general secretaries as In-charges to the Lok Sabha constituencies.

There would be one general secretary for each Lok Sabha segment and two or three joint secretaries for municipalities. He said that the party leaders, MLAs, MPs and others would work with the leaders for ensuring the victory of the party.

Stating that the leaders had taken up the membership drive actively in the State and lakhs of people have become members of the party in towns, Rama Rao said that the party is slated to win huge victory in the coming elections.

He called upon the party leaders to form booth level committees and send the details to the party office by September 1. He asked the party leaders to organise the constituency wise meetings during first week of September and inform the party about the schedule of these meetings.

Government Whip in Council Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said the party appointed a committee with four general secretaries to oversee the construction works. The committee consists of MP J Santosh Kumar, S Subhash Reddy, R Shravan Reddy and P Rajeshwar Reddy.
