Hyderabad: Exuding confidence about TRS's victory in Huzurnagar by-election, TRS working president K T Rama Rao said that his party has no negatives but many positives while going into the election.

"Electorate in Huzurnagar have full clarity. They know which party would be in power for the remainder of 4 years and 3 months and exercise their franchise accordingly. The voters are aware of the difference between the Parliament election and bye-election. A vote for Congress would not serve any purpose and they fully know it. TRS won all by-elections after it came to power," he pointed out.

KTR reasoned that parliamentary elections were not a setback to TRS as the party won a majority of seats. The ones TRS lost were by a less margin. Because of Modi wave, BJP won four seats, but it will secure very fewer seats this time and TRS's fight is only with Congress and not BJP, he felt.

According to a survey in Huzurnagar with a sample size of 1700 voters, TRS got 54.6 per cent support followed by Congress at 42 per cent with BJP getting a dismal 4 per cent In the ZP elections that followed the Parliament elections, TRS secured a resounding victory by capturing 4 ZPTC and 3 MPP posts in Huzurnagar itself.

However, he said that his party would not take the "referendum" talk by the rivals seriously. TRS also coined its slogan for the election. "If Congress wins Uttam would benefit...If TRS wins Huzurnagar would benefit", stated KTR in an informal interaction with reporters here on Wednesday.

Further, Rao explained that his party lost the Assembly election in Huzurnagar due to the "Truck" symbol that created confusion among voters. If not for this technical issue, TRS would have been a clear winner, he stressed.

KTR informed that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will address a public meeting as part of electioneering and dates of his meeting would be finalized in the next couple of days.

He also said that the party-appointed 30 in charges would hit the ground and take active electioneering from September 26 onwards. He also dismissed the talk of discontent in the party ranks after Cabinet expansion, which he said was a media creation.
