KTR inaugurates Textile Park in Sircilla
Sircilla: The government will help weavers' community during the present coronavirus situation, assured Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao. On Monday, he inaugurated the Textile Park along with central lighting, administrative building, dining room and sewing training centre at Thungallapalli mandal of Sircilla district.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the biggest Textile Park in the country was established in Warangal and Sircilla districts to provide employment opportunities for handloom workers and weavers. The government is giving orders of Batukamma sarees on a large scale through RVM and taking all kinds of steps for the welfare of weavers community. Several welfare schemes were introduced and 50 per cent subsidy is being given to the handloom industry, he informed.
Minister KTR also said that developmental works of Textile Park were started here with an investment of Rs 14.50 crore. With a view to provide basic facilities in the Park, steps were also taken for the establishment of Apparel park and a training centre for conducting training classes. The management of handloom companies must help their workers and must provide them with necessary facilities. The government will support and help handloom workers during this lockdown period, he assured.
Later, he distributed essential commodities to handloom workers at Markandaya Bhavan in Thungallapalli mandal headquarters.
