KTR initiates cleanliness drive in Pragathi Bhavan

Hyderabad: A day after giving a call to citizens of the State capital to keep their houses and premises clean to prevent the spread of seasonal and vector-borne diseases, MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao initiated household sanitation drive from Pragathi Bhavan.

Minister KTR inspected the premises and drained the stagnated water out of the plant containers and sprayed pesticide at the base of the water fountains to ward off mosquitoes.

"The GHMC is taking care of sanitation in public spaces and at the same time, every citizen should take care of cleanliness in and around their houses. Domestic sanitation is very important in eradicating seasonal diseases," he stressed.

The Minister highlighted the importance of citizens' participation in the drive and called for their support in controlling the outbreak.

He asked people to take precautions by cleaning water tanks, sumps, water drums, coolers, and other water storage equipment in their houses.

Minister stated that awareness should be created amongst the people on seasonal diseases.

For this, the GHMC has started a mass awareness drive to educate people and help them take precautionary measures, he added.
