KTR lashes Out At UPA and NDA On ITIR
Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao has said that ITIR policy has been prepared by previous UPA government but no funds were allocated. After BJP came to power, the minister said government apprised the centre of the status of the long-pending ITIR project. He also met personally the then IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad who ruled out enforcement of the new IT policy since the NDA did not consider the ITIR as a viable option to promote IT industry.
He was speaking in the Assembly on the question hour. KTR also lashed out at Congress for not allocating specific funds to ITIR project. He claimed that though the centre did not extended, Telangana government promoted IT in a big way by bringing new IT projects. Electronic clusters, start-up in Old city and IT towers in secondary grade towns are also on the cards.
