KTR pitches for NIMZ tag for proposed pharma city

Hyderabad: On the second of his New Delhi tour on Thursday, Municipal Administration & Urban Development and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao called on Union Minister of Home Amit Shah and also Railways and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal.

Rama Rao pleaded with Goyal to accord clearances to all pending industrial projects and extend financial assistance to the State. He requested the union minister to declare the proposed Hyderabad Pharma City as National Investment and Manufacturing Zone ( NIMZ) and release a grant-in-aid to develop the world class zone.

He brought to the notice of pending direct railway siding facility at Pandilapalli railway station of Khammam district for transportation and export of granite products to other places.

The Telangana minister also submitted a memorandum to Goyal to consider the proposal to provide regular train between Vijayawada and Hyderabad via Nalgonda district covering temples towns of Mellacheruvu, Mattampally and Janpahad Dargah to facilitate transportation for the visiting pilgrims.

Rama Rao discussed with the union minister about the TS government's readiness to set up first National Design Centre in Hyderabad. Rama Rao informed the minister that Hyderabad has been proposed as a preferred destination for setting of the design centre. A detailed project report had already been submitted to the union ministry, he mentioned.
