KTR showcases Telangana as best investment destination
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Tuesday showcased the Telangana State as the best destination for investments at the 'CRISIL India Infrastructure Conclave 2019-The Central role of States in India's Infrastructure buildout,' held in New Delhi.
The minister explained to delegates about the policies being adopted by the State in employment generation, infrastructure development and mobilising investments in social infrastructure.
He stated that the State government has invested Rs 45,000 crore in providing safe drinking water to all households by constructing 50 water treatment plants, 19 intake wells, 19,000 service tanks and laying 1.05 lakh kilometres of water pipelines.
The infrastructure created under Mission Bhagiratha is 4 times more than that has been created since independence, he added.
The minister said that the new industrial policy TS-iPASS has created a friendly and robust eco-system which provided employment to a close about 10 lakh people.
The State has planned and concentrated to overcome the power shortage of 2,700 MW in 2014, he mentioned, adding the State government has added 8,650 MW of contracted capacity and 3,640 MW of solar energy in a short span of 5 years.
Today, the minister said his government is supplying free power to all the farmers in the State.
